Our Founder
Marie Lardino, the founder of Voice, is a teacher and an Adjunct Professor to teacher candidates at the York University Faculty of Education. She holds a B.A., B.Ed., and a M.Ed. in curriculum with a focus in holistic and global education. She taught for the Toronto District School Board for ten years and has qualifications in all primary, junior and intermediate divisions with additional qualifications in drama.

Marie has conducted workshops to teachers in the United States on "peace education", and has given seminars at three of Toronto's faculties of education on global and alternative education. In addition, she has developed curriculum guidelines on the topic of conflict resolution for the Toronto District School Board, and has published an article for teachers (Primary Voices K-6) on establishing "democracy in the classroom". Other published work includes "In Our Own Backyard", a theme on children's rights written for UNICEF. In partnership with The Institute for Global Education at OISE, University of Toronto, she has recently written a chapter on the topic of "democracy in the classroom" for Japanese educators.

She is now the Principal and Lead Teacher of Voice Intermediate School.
