News in Sports
The soccer tournament at Sheppard's Bush last Wednesday turned out to be a very successful event for V.I.S. The girls played with great enthusiasm and energy. Through injuries and losses, they put forth a strong and consistent effort showing improvement and confidence as the games went on. We thank Jeff Gillespie for a great job coaching the girls' soccer team.
During the tournament, the boys' team moved into the semi finals. Our boys tried hard until the end when they were disqualified by Crestwood Prep. who scored a goal in "sudden death". Many thanks to Jeff Wolpert, Bonnie Jamieson, Judy Kalyan, David Trevor, Neil Jamieson and Alec Owen who drove our kids to the games and cheered them on throughout the day. A very special thanks to Neil Jamieson who coached the boys' team all the way to the semi finals. Our boys' team couldn't have done it without his expertise, ongoing support and encouragement
Congratulations to our boys' and girls' teams for their efforts throughout the tournament. We thank Ms. Launay for her dedication once again.
