Sports Report for the week of January 26-30 - By Coach Jeff
On Monday, the Boys Basketball game at St. Aidans was postponed due to weather. They made the game up on Thursday but had to travel to Northmount and play an away game. The team has been practicing hard and everyone has committed to the philosophy of tough defense and smart playmaking. Everyone has improved individually and as a team, Voice played its strongest game yet, defeating the Northmount Knights by a decisive score of 35-18. In the first quarter, our boys held the opposition to just a single point! Way to go guys! Next action is on Monday, February 2 as the team takes a break from studying to play at Fieldstone. This is a critical game for the standings and Voice will be ready to even up their record at 2-2 as they push for the playoffs. Next home game is on Monday, February 9 at St. Aidans @ 4:00 hope to see you there!
Thank you to our volunteer drivers for your time and enthusiasm, Judy Kalyan, Chuck Barhydt and Seans grandparents.
If you are interested in driving to Mondays game at Fieldstone, we are leaving the school shortly after 3:00. Please contact Coach Jeff at 416.691.7643 or 416.994.7643.
Next week is also a huge week for the Girls Volleyball team as they wrap up their season with 4 matches. On Tuesday, the girls face Alan Howard Waldorf School, two time defending champions. In the first meeting between these teams the girls gave them a run for their money and are ready for the rematch. They also face Linden on Tuesday. Both matches are at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. On Thursday, they play Crestwood Prep and Fieldstone at Fieldstone. The girls take their 2-2 record into the final week hoping to make a push for the playoffs. Coaches Jeff and Lorraine have loads of confidence that the Mean Green Fighting Machine will prevail.
Please note that there will be NO practices next week during exams for either team. Regular practice schedule will resume the following week.
Uniform Orders
Mid year is the time to order additional uniform items. An order form will be sent home this week. If you are interested in placing an order, please return the form to the school by Friday, February13th.
Have a great week!
